The Town of Hancock has an opening and is accepting an application for the combined positions of Code Enforcement Officer, Licensed Health Officer and Licensed Plumbing Inspector. The position is a minimum of 20 hours per week/ part time position. Experience working with the people, having a high degree of confidentiality, attention to detail, ability to work under pressure of multiple deadlines and flexibility are required skills.  Municipal experience and knowledge of TRIO municipal software program is desired. Salary is based on experience. Job descriptions are available at the Town Office during regular business hours. Building Permits

A building permit is required before any construction project begins. It is always a good idea to check with the Code Enforcement Office before starting any project.
You need a Building/Land Use Permit:

  • Change of Use
  • For construction of an addition
  • For demolishing or moving a building
  • Placing a sign
  • Activities listed in the Schedule of Uses
  • Any earth moving or other improvements in the shoreland zone or floodplain
  • Driveway/Road entrance
  • Fabric Shelters
  • Vegetative Clearing
  • Home Occupation
