The Lois Johnson Historical Society of Hancock is currently located on Route 1, Hancock, Maine.
Hancock was incorporated in 1828 as its own Town. Prior to that, Hancock was part of many surrounding towns- Lamoine, Marlboro, Sullivan and others.
The Historical Society has a large selection of historical records by family as well as many display items from days past.
The Historical Society is open during the summer months on Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s from 10am until noon. It is closed during the winter, but will make appointments for visitors.
